WHAT IS ROOM ELEVEN?

Room Eleven is Jack’s room. A non-interactive version of this room is available for non-subscribers. In the subscriber version, there are plenty of things to do, such as update Jack’s Journal, request items be put in your room, make playlists, and engage with mysterious clues lying about.

WHAT IS JACK’S JOURNAL?

Jack’s Journal is updated by subscribers like you as a running narrative of what Jack has been up to in the house, their experience, and their artwork of any medium. You’ll find a form submission in Room Eleven with which to add posts. There’s no guarantee your submission will be posted, but if it’s approved, it’ll be up within the week.

HOW DO I PUT ITEMS IN MY ROOM?

Use the form submission in Room Eleven to tell us all about what the room looks like in your heart. Through any artistic medium, let us inside, and we’ll post original artwork in response, decorating the space for you.

WHAT IS AN ACCEPTABLE JACK’S JOURNAL ENTRY OR RESPONSE TO A PROMPT?

Imagine your response in whatever artistic medium you choose and create that scene or situation or repercussion for what’s being presented in the prompt. It’s good to think about what’s plausible per the situation or character you’re dealing with (but utter nonsense is welcomed as well).

If you’re unsure what to submit to Jack’s Journal, you can look to the recent posts to remember what’s happened before and how you’ve responded to things in the past. Consider the movie Memento when thinking of your role as Jack and what the previous Jack’s Journal entries mean to you, whether you wrote them or not. These are notes to remind yourself of your own life, use them or ignore them. That’s up to you, but it’s a good place to start.

WHAT ARE NOTES TO JACK?

Located in Room Eleven, and via Instagram, these notes are to inform you (Jack) of events happening in Gray House that may not necessarily warrant a long and narrative blog entry. As a household of time-traveling immortals, things happen quickly. Don’t miss any invitations, apologies, explanations, or death threats.

HOW DO I RESPOND TO LETTERS/NOTES TO JACK?

Like prompts, you’re encouraged to respond to the Notes To Jack (as well as the longer letters found in Room Three), as these are messages ranging in importance from informational only to desperate pleas for help. You can reply by commenting on Instagram or directly emailing a Gray Family member. You can use these messages to start a dialogue with one of us or as inspiration for a piece of art without interacting with us directly at all.
